Poem writing 101
encourage yourself to think.
Think about the things that don't
ever really matter.
Think about what others think
and ponder mindless chatter.
Think about what makes the world
turn in endless routine.
Think about what makes the world
turn upside down on its head.
Think about the things you do
when you wake up in the morning.
Maybe you brush your teeth with tooth paste,
or maybe it's a bottle of Jack.
Maybe you spend all your days
just waiting for the party.
And maybe you spend them all
waiting for them to end.
Think about the clothes you wear
and how they make you feel.
Think about what others wear
and how you think they look.
Think about the weather today
and how it has been lately.
Maybe it's been too cold for you,
or maybe it's been too hot.
Maybe the rain has been pouring down
like a river from sky to ground.
And maybe the sun has shined
brighter than it ever has before.
Think about the things you take
for granted every day.
Think about the things you wish
you had with you today.
Think about what words can rhyme
and then which ones cannot.
Think about what maintains sanity
and then do the opposite.
Maybe you go insane alone
or maybe you take your friends with you.
Maybe you run around a mall
pretending to be British.
And maybe you add someone
whom you don't even know.
Think about anything,
something, everything.
Think about when to write,
where and what to write.

Personally,
I'm just always writing.

Well... umm
I was writing a poem.
and then.. Half-way through it I was trying to think of how to continue and stuff. and then I thought I needed a:
"Poem writing 101
encourage yourself to think."
and then.. it was so catchy that my brain went further into it:
"Think about the things that don't
ever really matter."
At that point, my other poem was so far in the back of my head I had to finish this one.
